Getting started

The Robopack public API lets you search Instant Apps, work with packages and Robopatch flows, and read Radar data. Supported external endpoints use /v1/ on https://api.robopack.com/.

Before you begin

You need a Robopack account and an API key from Settings > API Integration. The same area contains API Documentation, the interactive API browser. Follow Authentication and permissions before accessing tenant data or making changes.

Store the key in your environment as ROBOPACK_API_KEY, or provide it through your automation platform's secret store. The examples below read that variable and send it in the X-API-Key header.

Make a read-only request

Search the Instant Apps library for an app. This request reads catalogue information and does not create a package or upload anything to Intune.

curl

Run this in a Bash-compatible shell with ROBOPACK_API_KEY already set:

: "${ROBOPACK_API_KEY:?Set ROBOPACK_API_KEY to your API key}"

curl --fail --silent --show-error --get \
'https://api.robopack.com/v1/app' \
--header "X-API-Key: ${ROBOPACK_API_KEY}" \
--header 'Accept: application/json' \
--data-urlencode 'Search=7zip' \
--data-urlencode 'DisablePaging=false' \
--data-urlencode 'ItemsPerPage=50'

PowerShell

if ([string]::IsNullOrWhiteSpace($env:ROBOPACK_API_KEY)) {
throw 'Set ROBOPACK_API_KEY to your API key.'
}

$headers = @{
'X-API-Key' = $env:ROBOPACK_API_KEY
Accept = 'application/json'
}

$apps = Invoke-RestMethod -Method Get -Headers $headers -ErrorAction Stop `
-Uri 'https://api.robopack.com/v1/app?Search=7zip&DisablePaging=false&ItemsPerPage=50'

$apps | Select-Object id, name, publisherName, version, verified

The documented response is a JSON array of app objects. Review the app's name, publisherName, identifier, and id; retain the UUID in id for subsequent Instant App requests. An empty array means this query returned no matches.

See the search endpoint reference for all filters and response fields. These are example requests, not calls that run automatically when you open this page.

Choose your next step

If the request fails

Check the host, /v1/ path, and X-API-Key header. If a catalogue request succeeds but a tenant-specific request fails, check tenant permissions and the selected tenant ID.

The published OpenAPI document defines successful 200 responses but does not describe error response bodies, rate limits, or a retry policy. Capture the actual HTTP status and response for diagnosis, remove credentials before sharing them, and contact Robopack support if the cause is unclear.
