Search Instant Apps
Use GET /v1/app to search the library, then GET /v1/app/{id} to inspect a selected app and its versions. Both requests read information; importing an app is a separate step.
Set up your key using Getting started. The examples use the ROBOPACK_API_KEY environment variable.
Search by name
curl
: "${ROBOPACK_API_KEY:?Set ROBOPACK_API_KEY to your API key}"
curl --fail --silent --show-error --get \
'https://api.robopack.com/v1/app' \
--header "X-API-Key: ${ROBOPACK_API_KEY}" \
--header 'Accept: application/json' \
--data-urlencode 'Search=7zip' \
--data-urlencode 'DisablePaging=false' \
--data-urlencode 'ItemsPerPage=50'
--data-urlencode encodes search terms safely, including spaces and punctuation.
PowerShell
if ([string]::IsNullOrWhiteSpace($env:ROBOPACK_API_KEY)) {
throw 'Set ROBOPACK_API_KEY to your API key.'
}
$headers = @{ 'X-API-Key' = $env:ROBOPACK_API_KEY; Accept = 'application/json' }
$search = [uri]::EscapeDataString('7zip')
$uri = "https://api.robopack.com/v1/app?Search=$search&DisablePaging=false&ItemsPerPage=50"
$apps = @(Invoke-RestMethod -Method Get -Uri $uri -Headers $headers -ErrorAction Stop)
$apps | Select-Object id, name, publisherName, identifier, version, verified |
Format-Table -AutoSize
Review the publisher and identifier as well as the display name before selecting an app. Similar names can represent different products or sources. Use the selected result's id for Instant App detail and import calls.
Narrow the results
The search endpoint accepts Showcased=true to return showcased apps and Verified=true to return verified apps. Add these query parameters when they fit your selection criteria. For source and testing context, read the Instant Apps overview.
The endpoint reference also documents SortBy, SortDesc, and Logo. The source defines SortBy as a property name but does not provide a list of supported sort properties.
Control paging explicitly
Paged list operations expose these controls:
| Parameter | Purpose |
|---|---|
DisablePaging=false | Keep paging enabled. |
ItemsPerPage | Number of results per page; documented default is 50, maximum is 1000. |
Page | Index of the page to return. |
DisablePaging=true | Request all results with paging disabled. |
The schema does not specify whether Page begins at 0 or 1. The search examples omit it and use the server's default page. Before writing a loop, confirm page indexing in the interactive API browser for your integration, and keep the same filters and page size for each request. Responses are arrays; the schema does not include a total-count field or a next-page link.
Once you have confirmed the required page index, set ROBOPACK_PAGE_INDEX to that integer and request it explicitly:
: "${ROBOPACK_API_KEY:?Set ROBOPACK_API_KEY to your API key}"
: "${ROBOPACK_PAGE_INDEX:?Set ROBOPACK_PAGE_INDEX to a confirmed page index}"
curl --fail --silent --show-error --get \
'https://api.robopack.com/v1/app' \
--header "X-API-Key: ${ROBOPACK_API_KEY}" \
--header 'Accept: application/json' \
--data-urlencode 'Search=7zip' \
--data-urlencode 'DisablePaging=false' \
--data-urlencode 'ItemsPerPage=50' \
--data-urlencode "Page=${ROBOPACK_PAGE_INDEX}"
If you deliberately choose DisablePaging=true, consider the size of the resulting report. The same documented paging controls apply to package, flow, and Radar app lists; consult each operation for its own filters.
Inspect a selected app
In the PowerShell session above, enter the selected UUID rather than automatically choosing the first search result:
$appId = Read-Host 'Enter the id of the app you reviewed'
$app = Invoke-RestMethod -Method Get -Headers $headers -ErrorAction Stop `
-Uri "https://api.robopack.com/v1/app/$appId"
$app | Select-Object id, name, publisherName, identifier, version
$app.versions | Select-Object id, version, timestamp, storeApp, userScope, machineScope |
Format-Table -AutoSize
The detail response includes a nullable versions array and nullable headVersion. If you need a particular version, retain its UUID for the import endpoint's VersionId parameter. If no version is specified during import, the endpoint imports the latest version.
See app details for the full model, then follow Import an app and upload a package.
